Who we are
We are a manual games design company, who develops and facilitates bespoke games for Government, Corporate, Organisational and recreational audiences in order to generate insights, educate and entertain.
Stones Paper Scissors was founded in 1995, under its former name ‘Past Perspectives’, by its Director, Jim Wallman, a game designer and professional facilitator who has over 30 years experience of successfully developing games for a wide range of audiences, from young people in schools and universities, to corporations, museums, the military and the senior civil service.
He has combined his management experience at a senior level in the public and voluntary sectors with an appreciation of the psychological dimension game design and facilitation processes to ensure that Stones Paper Scissors events are able to deliver educational, team building or management development goals time and again.
Jim's background and training is primarily in the social science, psychology and military history fields, with a particular interest in the practical application of positive psychology to game structures and the development of immersive gameplay. His game designs in the recreational arena have now been played world wide in the USA, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, France, Italy, Germany, Austria and New Zealand as well across the UK.
He is supported by a peripatetic team of experts, all experienced professionals in facilitating games as well as subject matter experts in their own right.
The team's subject matter expertise has been drawn from backgrounds including academic history, cyber security, performing arts, computer science, journalism, senior management, military/defence, security, government and the social sciences.
It is the diversity of this interdisciplinary group that has proved very creative in designing and delivering games that both challenge and entertain.
